Battlefield: Hardline is a multi-platform arcade first-person shooter video game, the twelfth in the Battlefield series, developed by Visceral Games in partnership with EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox platforms. one. A representative from Visceral Games officially confirmed the development of the game on May 28, 2014 on the Battlefield series blog. 

The expected release date for the game is October 21, 2014.

THE GRAFICAL PART

Battlefield Hardline Beta only runs on Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. Other operating systems are not currently supported and are unlikely to receive support.

Game engine 

Battlefield Hardline Beta  is based on Frostbite Engine 3. Frostbite Engine is a game engine developed by EA Digital Illusions CE; used both in their own developments and projects of other branches of Electronic Arts. The first game created using this engine was Battlefield: Bad Company in 2008. The engine was designed to replace the technically obsolete Refractor Engine technology used in the firm's previous games.

There are four versions of the engine - 1.0, 1.5, 2, 3, as well as a special version of the engine for mobile systems - Frostbite Go. The engine refers to a type of sub-software and is a bundle of several components, such as a graphics engine, a sound engine, etc. In the Microsoft Windows operating system, the game engine supports graphics display using DirectX 9, DirectX 10, DirectX 10.1, and starting from version 1.5 - and DirectX 11. One of the announced features is optimization for multi-core processors.

The technology is able to handle the destructibility of the landscape and environment. Supports dynamic lighting and shading with HBAO, procedural shading, various post-effects (such as HDR and depth of field), a particle system, and texturing techniques such as bump mapping. The maximum location size is limited to 32 × 32 kilometers of display area and 4 × 4 kilometers of play space.  

In addition, it is claimed that the maximum draw distance allows you to see the level up to the horizon. It also has its own sound engine, which does not require the use of specialized tools like EAX.

Battlefield Hardline Beta is based on the main developments of Battlefield 4 has both basic and advanced graphic settings identical to it. As befits a game from the Battlefield series, four quality levels are available for all types of settings: ultra, high, medium and low. You can also flexibly manipulate individual settings.

Общее визульное оформление и игровая физика

Как мы уже и писали выше, Battlefield Hardline Beta базируется на наработках Battlefield 4 и имеет схожую с ней графическую составляющую. Конечно же, Battlefield 4 выглядит несколько привлекательнее, да и имеет поддержку до 64 игроков, но все равно, данный проект выглядит весьма неплохо. Судить же будем уже финальную версию игры...

Все видеокарты тестировались на максимальном качестве графики программой MSI Afterburner. Целью теста является определить, как ведут себя видеокарты от различных производителей при одинаковых условиях. За показатель производительности брался средний и минимальный FPS.  Ниже приведено видео тестовых отрезков:    

Наши видеокарты тестировались при разрешениях 1920х1080, 2560х1600 и 3840х2160 при максимальных настройках качества графики, допустимых Battlefield Hardline Beta. Так же тесты проводились при разрешения от 150 до 200%, в зависимости от основного разрешения.

Многочиповые конфигурации от AMD и NVIDIA на данный момент не имеют официальной поддержки игрой, но профили Battlefield 4 идеально к ней подходят и дают отличную масштабируемость(прописываем сами). Задержки вывода FPS не тестировались ввиду отсутсвия поддержки FRAPS на нашей системе. Так же не был протестирован API Mantle на видеокартах AMD, ввиду отсутсвия поддержки отображения FPS через консольные команды.

При данных настройках приемлемый показатель FPS показали видеокарты уровня Radeon HD 6950 или GeForce GTX 560. Оптимальными видеокартами станут решения Radeon HD 6970 или GeForce GTX 650 Ti и выше.

Testing of the video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the  MSI Afterburner program. The results on top video cards from AMD and NVIDIA were taken as an indicator at resolutions of  1920x1080 and 2560x1600 with various anti-aliasing settings.

The recommended amount of video memory usage for a resolution of 1920x1080 will be 2048 MB of video memory,  for a resolution of 2560x1600 - 3078 MB of video memory and for a resolution of 3840x2160 about 3078 MB of video memory.   For modes 150-200%, the recommended amount of video memory usage for a resolution of 1920x1080 will be 3078 MB of video memory, for a resolution of 2560x1600 - 4096 MB of video memory and for a resolution of 3840x2160 more than 4096 MB of video memory.  

CPU test

 

We tested processor dependence on 20 models of basic configurations that are relevant today. The test was carried out in those places where the value of the video card for the game is minimal and its load was less than 99%, this time at a resolution of 1920x1080 with maximum graphics quality settings. The tests were carried out on NVIDIA and AMD video cards. Test run video:

With any graphics accelerators, video cards will show comfortable performance, but with an NVIDIA video adapter, we get a significant increase, especially for Intel processors.

The game is able to fully load up to 8 CPU threads, which is very, very nice.

RAM test

The test was conducted on the base configuration Core i 7 3970X@4.9 GHz with 16GB DDR3 2400 MGz pre-installed memory. All used RAM was taken as an indicator. The RAM test on the entire system was carried out on various test benches without running extraneous applications (browsers, etc.).

As we can see, with various quality settings, the amount of RAM consumed in Battlefield Hardline Beta is at the level of 2300 megabytes.

On a 4 GB system, the Battlefield Hardline Beta consumes about 3.5 GB of RAM. In the presence of a system with 8 gigabytes, the RAM consumption of all RAM was 4.3 gigabytes. With a 16 GB system, system memory consumption was almost 6 GB.
