Official description of the game

Sci-fi setting. The plot of the game "Forerunners" was based on the theories of modern scientists and science fiction writers, who believe that many civilizations mastered intergalactic flights long before mankind launched its first rockets into space.

The game begins with the fact that the main character, a young pilot of the Amarnov race, after graduating from the academy, returns home to the planet Goldin. There he learns that lately a series of mysterious and terrible events have occurred in the galaxy. One such catastrophe affected the Amarn civilization very much and completely turned his own life upside down.

He will have to work hard in order to identify the root cause of all disasters and solve the problems that have arisen. The game successfully combines elements of various genres: RPG, action, space simulator.

Game features:
• Unique gameplay: combines genres such as RPG / FPS / space sim
• A real opportunity to visit various planets
• Over 250 exciting quests and tasks
• Partially organic weapons with ammunition that need food
• Controlled spaceships and other types transport
• A huge variety of enemies
• Ability to trade
• Interaction with hundreds of NPCs of various enemy races
• Weather effects, day and night, atmospheric phenomena

Overview: Playability

A domestic developer always approaches games with their own, individual approach. This project is no exception. Trying to surpass their Western counterparts, they decided to cross several genres in one game at once: a first-person shooter, a simulator and an RPG. We can safely say that in some sense they succeeded. All these components are really present in the game.

The plot is unclear at first and it seems that it does not have a clearly traced game line - go there and bring something, here we have something going on, etc. and so on. Due to the constantly changing locations (in particular, we meant different planets with their flora and fauna), these ridiculous actions do not annoy, but cause some unbridled interest. And only after playing a little you begin to delve into the essence of the events.

But trying to invent an elephant, the developers overlooked some of the game's shortcomings. So in very Forerunner there are a lot of repetitive character models - it feels like the developers were too lazy or cheated. The AI of the enemy is very primitive and causes only regret. And most importantly, not very polished control - it feels like you are not controlling a game character, but some kind of hippopotamus in a swamp.

Review: Game Graphics

Graphics in the Forerunner causes a somewhat extraordinary opinion. The special effects are done at the proper level and do not cause any complaints. The character models are slightly prosaic and evoke an association with the unfinished game graphics.

The rest of the models: vegetation, buildings, landscape are quite real and allow you to fully see the beauty of the surrounding worlds. But their location is slightly clunky and slightly annoying.

I was very pleased with the weather effects and the change of day and night. These components are executed very beautifully and do not allow for a moment to doubt the quality of their implementation.

Review: Game resource intensive

For a comfortable game, you should have a Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz dual-core processor and 2.5 gigabytes of RAM.

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality by the Fraps program in the most resource-intensive part of the game.

We tested video cards of the lower price segment at a resolution of 1024x768, we tested video cards of the middle price range at a resolution of 1280x1024, and video cards of the upper price range were tested at a resolution of 1680x1050.

Testing at maximum Low End quality settings at a resolution of 1024x768

The lower sector could not cope with the game in any way, and once again the owners of these video cards will have to sacrifice quality in order to increase performance.

Testing at maximum quality settings Midle End at a resolution of 1280x1024

Here we see that half of the currently popular cards failed, and the other is very close to a fiasco...

Testing at maximum High End quality settings at a resolution of 1680x1050

That immediately two of our participants are close to subsidence. It can be seen that with an increase in resolution, they will no longer be able to provide an acceptable frame rate. It is worth noting that the game is predisposed to Radeon video cards. The advantage is small, but it is there.
