Official description of the game

Unlike most similar games, Saboteur will offer players a completely open world (GTA-style). The gameplay will combine elements of a first-person shooter and stealth.

You, as a member of the French organization French La Resistance, will have to liberate various territories under the control of the Nazis.

Game Features:
• Open Paris: shoot, climb, and sneak through dark alleys, rooftops, houses in the shabby city streets.
• Art of Sabotage: Try yourself as a real saboteur, remaining unnoticed. Kill enemies unnoticed by diverting attention or sneaking up. You are a master of weapons, driving, and also sabotage.
• Thirst to Fight: Fast-paced action game with a compelling storyline and innovative visual style, as well as the will to win. Watch how the city changes around from military operations, and also frees itself from the Nazis. Only you can restore the hope and grandeur of Paris.

Overview: Playability

If someone expected supernatural and super-realistic from this game, then we can disappoint you - this is not a new NASA shuttle and you will not meet Martians in the near future. In our opinion, this is a solid publishing project (the latest from Pandemic Studios, rest in peace), which deserves our respect and some sympathy.

The game, by its nature, belongs to the typical GTA gameplay: you move freely around the city, complete missions, or brawl for your own pleasure. In some century, the theme of the Second World War in the gaming industry was decided to be transferred to a living city and not just Paris itself. And even if you are not a fan of games of this genre, it will be simply interesting to wander around the French capital and get acquainted with its sights and the life of the townspeople in the 40s (the time of occupation by Nazi Germany).

In general, the project is quite interesting and extraordinary. Another feature of this project is the implementation of its visualization in black and white style with the addition of some colors. On the one hand, this is somewhat new and unusual for us, and on the other hand, it causes a feeling of immersion in the history of that time, as when watching old black and white films.

In addition to the GTA component, the game borrowed something from other games such as Prototype and Assasin's Creed. From Prototype, the constant game tension and skirmishes of the opposing sides on the street are taken, and from Assasin`s Creed - climbing walls and moving along the roofs of buildings.

In general, the quantity and quality of open world games is constantly increasing and we look forward to further development of this trend.

Review: Game Graphics

In the game review of the game, we emphasized that the game has uncharacteristic black and white tones. The game engine is not very modern and does not look very good with color rendering.

But this is if you look at the game in color. And once you look at it in black and white, it immediately transforms, and gray tones make a more positive impression than color ones.

In general, the detailing of the game is not bad, the city is reproduced just fine. Weather effects are also made at the lowest level. It is a pity that there are not very many graphic settings in the game and the quality of the picture cannot be improved even through the graphics driver.

Review: Game resource intensive

So, for a complete immersion in the gameplay, you will need a Core 2 Duo 3.0 or Core 2 Quad 2.4 processor and 3 gigabytes of RAM. Optimization for processors in the game is not bad, and with an increase in the number of cores, the load is evenly distributed between them.

We tested low-end graphics cards at 1024x768, mid-range cards we tested at 1280x1024, and high-end cards were tested at 1680x1050.

Testing at maximum Low End quality settings at a resolution of 1024x768

The lower range could not cope with this task in any way and the graphics settings for the owners of these cards will need to be reduced.

Testing at maximum quality settings Midle End at a resolution of 1280x1024

Here we see that less than half of the video cards are experiencing difficulties. Small, but they are.

Testing at maximum High End quality settings at a resolution of 1680x1050

Here you can see that all the video cards coped with the gameplay. Radeon video cards in the game look much better than Nvidia. But to all this, the game also has jambs: crashes and freezes are possible on different configurations, so some users will have to tie their belt tighter and wait for the release of a game patch that fixes these bugs.
