This article presents APU testing in the Hard Reset Redux game, using the latest most relevant systems based on AMD and Intel desktop processor logic, at 1080P resolution at low and maximum quality settings.


In this subsection of our review, the main graphical aspects of this game are revealed. Particular attention is paid to the version of the graphics engine used, the version of the API used, graphics settings and the quality of the development of the main visual aspects.


Hard Reset Redux is only supported on Windows 7/8/10. Other operating systems are currently not supported by developers and are unlikely to receive support. 


The priority and primary graphics API for Hard Reset Redux is  DirectX 11  


Hard Reset Redux is based on the Road Hog Engine. There is no more detailed information about the game's graphics engine on the net.

On June 3, 2016, Hard Reset Redux was released - a re-release of the original game and its add-on on a new engine with improved graphics, several new types of opponents, a new weapon in the form of a cyber katana, and improved gameplay.


There is no particular difference between AMD and Intel solutions in the game.

The configurations were tested with MSI Afterburner. The purpose of the test is to determine how platforms from different manufacturers behave under the same conditions. The average and minimum FPS were taken as the performance indicator. Below is a video of the test segment:

Our APUs were tested at 1920x1080 resolutions with Hard Reset Redux graphics quality settings set to low and high  .

With these settings, almost all solutions showed an acceptable FPS indicator .

 With these settings, the latest AMD APUs and Core i 7 5775C showed an acceptable FPS .



Testing of the video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the  MSI Afterburner program. The results were taken on  Core i 7 5775C and AMD A10-7870K systems  at  1280x720 and 1920x1080 resolutions  with low quality settings.

At low settings, the APU video memory consumption is  630  MB of video memory, and at ultra  1920x1080  - 1050 MB.

When using integrated graphics solutions, the game is capable of supporting up to 8 computational threads.

The test was conducted on the base configurations Core i 7 5775C and AMD A10-7870K with 8 GB DDR3/4 2666 MGz pre-installed memory. The test of RAM on the entire system was carried out without running extraneous applications (browsers, etc.).

In the presence of a system with a Core i 7 5775C Hard Reset Redux  consumes all 2.4 gigabytes of RAM. In the presence of a system based on AMD A10-7870K,  the RAM consumption of all RAM also amounted to 2.3 gigabytes.
