Crysis 3 is a sci-fi first-person shooter developed by the German company Crytek and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released on February 19, 2013 in the United States, February 21, 2013 in Europe for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. “Crysis 3” uses Crytek’s own game engine, CryEngine 3, and is the second game released on this engine. “Crysis 3” is a continuation of the game “Crysis 2”.
The action takes place in 2047, 24 years after the events described in Crysis 2. After the suppression of the threat of cephalopods, a power vacuum was created that was eventually filled by CELL, which developed from a private military company into a diversified mega-corporation. Having established a monopoly in a number of key areas of the economy, including the energy sector, CELL used financial and debt schemes to establish control over the population. New York was not rebuilt from the fighting and finally turned into ruins, in which conflicts flare up from time to time between the CELL troops, the remnants of cephalopods that survived after the biological attack, and the rebels resisting the dictatorship of the corporation.
