Cyberpunk 2077 is an adventure role-playing game set in the metropolis of Night City, where power, luxury and body modification are valued above all else. You play as V, a mercenary in search of a device that will allow you to gain immortality. You’ll be able to change your character’s cyber implants, skills, and playstyle as you explore an open world where your actions affect the course of the story and everything around you.

This subsection of our review highlights the main graphical aspects of this game. Particular attention is paid to the version of the graphics engine used, the version of the API used, graphic settings and the quality of development of the main visual aspects.

– Improved the appearance of water and added interaction with it. Ripples and splashes now appear on the surface of the water in various situations, such as when colliding with an object or when shooting.
– Improved visual effects of rain on car windows. Drops of water are no longer afraid to fall.
– Motorcycles now have neon wheels. They can be turned on and off by pressing the “E” key on the keyboard, or the left stick on a gamepad, or the left stick on a controller.
– Improved visual effects of the Optical Camouflage implant. If Johnny had this implant in 2023, he would have no problem blowing up Arasaka Tower single-handedly.
– Fixed a bug due to which some subtitles with Johnny’s lines remained hanging on the screen.
– Fixed bugs that caused Avi to fly through buildings.
– The weather system has been improved, it now changes in a more logical way.
– Auto-detection can be enabled for slow hard drive mode. When you turn on the game, it automatically detects which drive it is installed on. If necessary, it will speed up data loading and increase crowd activity, sacrificing diversity in crowd composition, additional loading screens and the amount of detail on the streets during fast driving.
– Added support for AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution (FSR) 1.0 technology, which replaced Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS). In the PC version, you can enable it in the Settings → Graphics → Resolution scale menu. This setting cannot be configured on consoles.
– Many fixes and improvements related to game stability and optimization have been made.
– Added performance testing mode. It is located in the Settings → Run test menu.
– Added the “Change walking mode” function when playing with the keyboard. To enable it, press the G key while exploring the world. You can bind this function to another key in the game settings.
– Enabled transparent ray-traced reflections on glossy surfaces of some cars.
– Added support for Variable Rate Shading (VRS) technology. It speeds up rendering and improves graphics quality by changing the intensity of shading for different parts of the frame. Only available on compatible devices.
– Fixed a bug that prevented dynamic resolution from being enabled on AMD video cards when ray tracing was enabled.
Support for NVIDIA 700 series video cards has been discontinued.
– Since these video cards are no longer supported by the manufacturer’s drivers, the minimum system requirements for NVIDIA video cards have increased to GTX 970.
– This does not mean that the game will no longer run on NVIDIA 700 series video cards, but it is no longer used for testing the game.
Windows 7: future support
– Due to the limited capabilities of games with DirectX 12 on devices with Windows 7 and the end of support for this operating system at the driver level for video cards, updates for Cyberpunk 2077 from June 15, 2022 will no longer support Windows 7. The game may no longer work on Windows 7 if you decide to install the following patches released after this date.

Testing of video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the program MSI Afterburner. The indicator was based on the results on video cards from AMD and NVIDIA with separate screen sizes 1920×1080, 2560×1440 and 3840×2160 with various anti-aliasing settings. By default, the graph displays the most current solutions. Other video cards are added and removed from the schedule at the request of the reader.
