Deathloop is a new first-person shooter where you’ll travel to Black Reef Island and find yourself in a time loop, reliving the same day hundreds of times…
The events of the game take place on the island of Black Reef, where the main character, a man with the call sign Colt, ends up. Colt finds himself in a time loop and is now forced to relive the same day over and over again. And this will happen until he destroys all eight specified targets by the end of the day. And now, you are about to tackle this difficult task.
THE GRAFICAL PART |
This subsection of our review highlights the main graphical aspects of this game. Particular attention is paid to the version of the graphics engine used, the version of the API used, graphic settings and the quality of development of the main visual aspects.
SUPPORTED OS AND GRAPHICS API |
Deathloop supported Windows 10.
The priority and main graphics API for Deathloop is DX12.
GAME ENGINE |
The basis for Deathloop was the game engine Void Engine. Despite the fact that the Void Engine is based on Id Tech 5, according to Sebastian Mitton, lead art director at Arkane Studios, they rewrote Id Tech 5 by more than 70 percent, so Although there are similarities between them, there are still not so many of them. But what did the Void Engine bring to the table in terms of graphics and technology? To begin with, I would like to mention the support for both SSAO shading and the more advanced HBAO+, which make the picture more realistic and add volume to objects. In general, the lighting system for the Void Engine was completely redesigned, which has now become dynamic. Well, the lighting method itself has become per-pixel, and this is a significant leap forward, since the light is now calculated not for individual polygons, but for each individual pixel.
Thanks to the Void Engine, the developers were able to implement really high-quality soft shadows in some places. The engine uses both Normal mapping and Parallax mapping as relief texturing methods. It adds dimension to some flat surfaces and looks amazing. The developers also introduced a more believable skybox, or simply sky, into their engine. As already mentioned, Motion blur effects appeared in Id Tech 5. Well, Void Engine went further and improved literally all the blur effects.
Deathloop Void Engine gets support DX12 and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution.

Our video cards were tested at different screen sizes of 1920×1080, 2560×1600 and 3840×2160 maximum graphics quality settings.
DLSS and FSR technologies were not tested in the annual results, since they are not supported in all games and will not affect the final result in the final rating.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX and GTX video cards are provided by LLC Business Development Center.
GPU TEST |
In the video card test, the default resolution is 1920×1080; other resolutions are added and removed manually. You can also remove and add any positions of video cards. You can also select any of our test processors from the list in the drop-down menu, comparing its performance with the given video card tests (by default, the most productive solution is selected). The test is carried out on the most powerful CPU in this game and is scaled to other processors, taking into account their testing on NVIDIA and AMD video cards.

Testing of video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the program MSI Afterburner. The indicator was based on the results on video cards from AMD and NVIDIA with separate screen sizes 1920×1080, 2560×1440 and 3840×2160 with various anti-aliasing settings. By default, the graph displays the most current solutions. Other video cards are added and removed from the schedule at the request of the reader.
