Official description of the game

The continuation of the legendary project, rightfully considered one of the best in the turn-based strategy genre. “Disciples III: Renaissance” is a beautiful fantasy world inhabited by terrible monsters and brave heroes. Without deviating from the canons of turn-based strategies, the game introduces many innovations into the genre, giving you the opportunity to feel like real leaders of magical armies.
In Disciples III: Renaissance, there will be three races available to the player: the Empire, the Legions of the Damned, and the Elven Union. Each of them has its own heroes and characters, be they warriors or magicians, as well as an original tree of buildings. The game is completely three-dimensional: instead of a static image, you will find detailed 3D models of cities and warriors. The construction menu has also changed. When you select a building, a list of its improvements is shown, determining the development path of the corresponding warrior. In addition to all this, players will be presented with a completely new combat system.

VirtualDream’s own graphics engine supports all the latest technologies: vertex and pixel shaders, normal maps, skeletal, morphic and procedural animation, particle systems, dynamic lighting and shadows, portal technology, image post-processing and much more.
In the future, it is planned to add an editor that will allow you to create maps both from ready-made objects and using rich capabilities for changing the landscape: terramorphing and restructuring the surface, painting, integration of arbitrary geometry.
Disciples III is a true rebirth of a legend, raising the bar for the Disciples series to new heights.

Review: Playability

After the release of the game Disciples 3: Renaissance on December 11, the game received many kicks and slaps in the face from various resources and sites. Probably someone expected something extraordinary and stunning from this project. But this did not happen, and we will see an ordinary computer game that combines both advantages and disadvantages.

Well, what can be taken away from the game is the beauty of its design. As they say, we meet by clothes. A very beautiful menu, a good soundtrack, excellent sound accompaniment, emotional inter-game screensavers allow you to leave only positive emotions. The game has three different game plots, filled with their own meaning and originality. I am very pleased with the variety of game units and their realistic behavior during battle.

Well, what do we classify as disadvantages? First of all, this is a slightly confusing structure of the gameplay – it’s not immediately clear how to do what, and it’s very difficult to do without training. The second is a slightly disturbed game balance: during a combat clash between two very strong and very weak units, a confrontation ensues that lasts a suspiciously long time. There are also some technical glitches that sometimes slow down the gameplay.

We bring to your attention the training video for Disciples 3: Renaissance and form your own opinion about this game project.

Fans of this type of game will be extremely indignant. In general, the errors in the game are not so critical and allow you to plunge headlong into the game’s plot.

Review: Game Graphics

The graphics, judging by the preliminary game videos, should have been simply gorgeous and would blow us away, so to speak. But that did not happen. No one will have to save us and we can safely sit down at the gaming table.

Environment detail is a bit weak and is a bit disappointing when viewed up close. But the application of visual effects saves the situation and allows us to enjoy a completely playable picture.

In general, the game itself is built very beautifully and you can see the scrupulousness of the developers in every detail. the game is very picturesque and colorful, and even despite the graphical gaps (it is clear that the graphical component was developed a long time ago) it looks very good.

Review: Resource-intensive game

To play Disciples 3: Renaissance, you will need a dual-core Core 2 Duo 2,0 GHz processor and 2,5 gigabytes of RAM.. The game is not so sensitive to the power of the processor and video cards, but it really likes to waste your precious RAM.

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality by the Fraps program in the most resource-intensive part of the game.

We tested video cards from the lower price segment at a resolution of 1024×768, video cards from the middle price range were tested at a resolution of 1280×1024, and video cards from the upper price range were tested at a resolution of 1680×1050.

Testing at maximum Low End quality settings at 1024×768 resolution

Testing at maximum quality settings Midle End at 1280×1024 resolution

1280

Testing at maximum High End quality settings at 1680×1050 resolution

1680

We haven’t seen such a comfortable game on almost all modern video accelerators for a very long time. A further increase in the number of frames rests on the central processor. The game graphics may not have enough stars in the sky, but it won’t slow down at all!

Conclusion: Disciples 3: Renaissance has a good idea and quite original gameplay. We expect the developers to quickly correct their minor errors, before the fans of this series squirm on the vine. Ordinary gamers will find the project quite good. And the small requirements for video accelerators make its audience even more massive.
