Review: Playability
This ambitious project somehow passed us by. And only recently having appeared in the media, we involuntarily became interested in him. First of all, we were interested in the game graphics. and a description of the gameplay – where the ambition of the developers has skyrocketed tenfold relative to the game Rome: Total War.
Now let’s move on to our immediate opinion regarding this game. First of all, we want to really emphasize. that the developers’ project turned out to be really large-scale: before you begin combat operations, you will have to sweat a little and build an entire economic system with all the bells and whistles of the civilization of that time. This, as they say, is the good side of the coin will appeal only to avid economic strategists, while RTS fans will have to smoke on the sidelines.
Overall, the scale of the game is impressive, but the developers are still very, very far from conquering the heights of recreating a real living world.
Review: Game Graphics
The game graphics are quite nice and allow you to see the Great Roman Empire with your own eyes. Lots of game objects, dynamic changes of day and weather, beautiful special effects – everything is done at the proper level.
But this beauty is uneclipsed only when viewing the game map from above. When you get closer, you can see a slight clumsiness of the game models, and especially the game characters.
But since the game is not aimed at the hardcore market, but at fans of economic strategies, it has a very, very high graphical level for this genre.
Review: Resource-intensive game
To fully enjoy the gameplay of this product, you will need a dual-core Core 2 Duo 2,4 GHz processor and 2 gigabytes of RAM..
As always, we carried out testing in the most resource-intensive place in the game. When testing on Radeon cards, we encountered a problem – anti-aliasing in the game menu cannot be enabled when it is activated simultaneously with post-processing. It is quite possible that this is a driver glitch, or maybe the game itself…
Therefore, we conducted general testing without antialiasing enabled and separate testing with antialiasing enabled on GeForce cards.
Testing at maximum quality settings at 1920×1080 resolution without anti-aliasing activated
Testing at maximum quality settings at 1920×1080 resolution with anti-aliasing activated
Conclusion: The game is designed for fans of economic strategies. Although it has an RTS element, we do not recommend it to fans of this genre.
