NVIDIA introduced the GeForce RTX 40 series of GPUs, designed to deliver breakthrough performance for gaming and creativity.
The world’s first RTX 40 GPUs, based on NVIDIA’s new Ada Lovelace architecture, deliver significant leaps in performance and efficiency and introduce a new era of real-time ray tracing and neural rendering that uses artificial intelligence to generate pixels. The new GPUs include the GeForce RTX 4090, available October 12 starting at $1599, and the 4080GB and 16GB versions of the GeForce RTX 12, which will be available in November starting at $1199 and $899, respectively.
NVIDIA Introduces DLSS 3, a revolutionary technology for creating new frames using artificial intelligence, increasing performance by up to 4 times
GeForce RTX 40 GPUs support DLSS 3, which boosts performance exponentially with AI, ushering in a new era of NVIDIA RTX™ neural rendering for games and applications.
DLSS 3 builds on the company’s leadership in AI-powered ultra-high resolution technologies to deliver outstanding image quality and up to 4x faster performance than classic rendering.
Relying on new fourth-generation Tensor Cores and a new optical flow accelerator in GeForce RTX 3 GPUs, DLSS 40 is the latest iteration of the critically acclaimed Deep Learning Super Sampling technology, which introduces a new capability called Optical Multi Frame Generation.
Optical Multi Frame Generation creates entirely new frames, not just pixels, delivering amazing performance gains. Because DLSS frame generation is performed as post-processing on the GPU, it can improve frame rates even if the game’s performance is limited by the CPU.
Game developers are already rolling out DLSS 3 support, with more than 35 games and apps coming soon

Portal now supports RTX!
NVIDIA Lightspeed Studios has reimagined Valve’s iconic video game Portal, considered one of the best video games of all time. Advanced graphics features such as full ray tracing and DLSS 3 give the game a completely new look and feel. Portal with RTX will be released as free official downloadable content for the classic platformer with RTX graphics in November, just in time for the game’s 15th anniversary.

Portal with RTX is made possible by the new NVIDIA RTX Remix modding platform, which also debuted in today’s GeForce Beyond special on GTC. A “mod” – short for “modification” – is new in-game content that is created by players, not developers. RTX Remix is a modding platform powered by NVIDIA Omniverse that lets you create stunning RTX remasters of classic games. RTX Remix allows modders to easily capture game assets, automatically enhance materials with powerful AI tools, and quickly enable RTX with ray tracing and DLSS.
