NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER GPU Benchmarks Leak: Confirmed Specs and Performance Comparable to RTX 4070 Ti

Benchmarks for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER GPU have surfaced, revealing performance almost on par with the RTX 4070 Ti.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER GPU

Expected to be the entry-level offering in the RTX 40 "SUPER" lineup, the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER will compete against the Radeon RX 7800 XT, targeting the 1440P+ segment with its 16 GB VRAM. The upgraded RTX 4070 SUPER aims to achieve performance near the RTX 4070 Ti but at a more competitive price point.

In terms of specifications, the RTX 4070 SUPER is anticipated to come in AD104-350 or AD103-175 SKU configurations, both featuring 7,168 cores. The GPU is expected to have 48 MB of L2 cache and stick with 12 GB GDDR6X memory across a 192-bit bus interface. Performance-wise, it is projected to be approximately 14% faster than the RTX 4070 Non-SUPER. The card will also feature the new CEM 5.1 Gen5 power connector.

In Geekbench OpenCL tests, the RTX 4070 SUPER scored 195,384 points and 219,237 points in CUDA tests. These benchmarks showcase impressive performance, surpassing the RX 7900 XTX in OpenCL and trailing behind the RTX 4070 Ti by only -5.5%. In CUDA tests, the RTX 4070 SUPER offers 98% of the performance of the RTX 4070 Ti. It's essential to note that these are synthetic benchmarks, and actual gaming performance may vary.

Compared to the RTX 4070 Non-SUPER, the SUPER variant boasts a 15% performance uplift in OpenCL and an 18% improvement in CUDA benchmark tests.

The official unveiling of the GPU is expected next week at NVIDIA's CES 2024 "Special Address." Stay tuned for more updates.
