US Sanctions Impact Global Availability and Pricing of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090

In light of new US export restrictions under the EAR (Export Administration Regulations) classification, there have been changes in global availability and pricing for NVIDIA's flagship gaming GPU, GeForce RTX 4090. The sanctions affect not only China but also other countries in the D1, D4, and D5 subgroups. As a result, RTX 4090 prices in the USA have risen, reaching $1900-2000 on American trading platforms.

In China, despite import restrictions, the RTX 4090 remains available for purchase, but its price has significantly increased, in some cases doubling the recommended price. Rumors suggest that shipments were increased prior to the imposition of sanctions to build up stock, affecting the card's availability in other regions.

NVIDIA's official website in China has already removed references to the RTX 4090, including performance comparison charts where this model is no longer featured. In response to the new restrictions, NVIDIA has prepared server solutions that comply with TPP (Total Processing Performance) requirements of less than 4800. Rumors also suggest the upcoming release of the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER early next year, which may not be subject to these restrictions.
