Development Hunt: Showdown 1896 began in response to growing requests from the player community. Over the course of several years, Crytek has been collecting feedback and suggestions, which has helped form the basis for new content and improvements. The development team set themselves the task of not only adding new maps and modes, but also revising many aspects of the game, such as combat mechanics, the sound system, and the interface.
