Review: Playability
Lord of The Rings Online is a more advanced product of the MMORPG genre than its other compatriots. In addition to the multiplayer component, the game also has echoes of the single-player mode. I am very pleased with the rich game world recreated based on the works of Tolkien. The graphics in the game itself are of two minds. On the one hand, it has support for DirectX 10 and very high-quality and detailed textures. On the other hand, some special effects and models do not look very high quality.
This is especially true for character models. If the models of gnomes and elves look good, then people and halflings look, so to speak, not very high quality. Humans have too broad shoulders, and halflings have too short legs. If in other games of this genre these characters looked quite respectable, here their shortcomings are immediately evident.
In general, the picture at first causes bewilderment and the opinion that the graphics are a bit old, but as you play, you get used to it and it seems quite decent.
Review: Resource-intensive game
To play Lord of The Rings Online comfortably, you will need a dual-core Core 2 Duo 2,4 GHz processor and 2 gigabytes of RAM.. The game has a terrible appetite for the graphics subsystem.
All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality in DirectX 10 mode by the Fraps program in the most resource-intensive part of the game.
We tested video cards from the lower price segment at a resolution of 1024×768, video cards from the middle price range were tested at a resolution of 1280×1024, and video cards from the upper price range were tested at a resolution of 1680×1050.
