Today, as part of an online event 2022 Product PremiereThe company AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) announced new solutions that provide leadership in productivity, content creation and gaming. During the livestream, AMD President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su discussed more than 30 new AMD products, including:
- 20 New AMD Ryzen™ 6000 Series Processors Featuring the Most Powerful SoC Graphics Available in a Notebook[I].
- Three new AMD Radeon™ RX 6000S-series graphics processors optimized for thin and light gaming laptops.
- Five new AMD Radeon RX 6000M-series GPUs for premium gaming laptops.
- New Radeon RX 6500 XT and Radeon RX 6400 desktop video cards for incredible 1080p gaming.
- Updated AMD intelligent technologies designed to improve the performance and battery life of AMD Advantage™ notebooks.
- Upcoming AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™ featuring new AMD Radeon Super Resolution (RSR) spatial scaling technology based on the video driver.
AMD expects leading PC vendors to offer more than 2022 new premium AMD-powered laptop models to consumers, gamers and professionals in 200, including more than 20 new AMD Advantage laptops designed to deliver a best-in-class gaming experience on the go.
The livestream also featured the Ryzen 7 5800X3D desktop processor, the industry’s first consumer PC processor with a 3D chiplet design that delivers significant gains in gaming performance. Dr. Su also shared a preview of AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 7000 series desktop processors, scheduled to launch in the second half of 2022, based on the next-generation 5nm “Zen 4” processor core and the new Socket AM5 platform with LGA socket and PCI support -Express® 5.0 and DDR5 memory.

AMD Ryzen 6000 Series Processors
Reinforcing its commitment to leadership in the notebook industry, AMD announced the AMD Ryzen 6000 series processors, built on the highly efficient 6nm “Zen 3+” core architecture and featuring integrated graphics based on the AMD RDNA™ 2 architecture to deliver the highest performance in Ryzen mobile processors.[ii].
- The new AMD Ryzen processor family includes AMD Ryzen 6000 U-series processors, optimized to deliver the ideal combination of performance and efficiency in thin and light laptops, and Ryzen 6000 H-series processors, the solution for gaming and work laptops.
- With the Ryzen 6000 series processors, AMD introduces an all-new laptop platform with support for connected devices including Wi-Fi™ 6E, Bluetooth® 5.2 with LE Audio, PCI® Gen 4, and LPDDR5 memory.
- The world’s leading laptop OEM partners, including ASUS, HP and Lenovo, will begin shipping AMD processor-based systems to market starting February 2022, with 200 systems expected by the end of this year.
AMD Radeon Graphics Updates
Building on AMD’s banner year in gaming, the company announced about the latest updates in the AMD Radeon mobile and desktop product families.
- The expanded AMD Radeon RX 6000M mobile graphics lineup brings epic gaming performance to the next generation of premium laptops.
- The new AMD Radeon RX 6000S mobile graphics lineup is optimized for power-efficient, high-performance gaming in incredibly thin and light gaming laptops.
- For desktop PCs, AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT and Radeon RX 6400 video cards are designed to make incredible 1080p gaming experiences for popular AAA and esports titles available to more gamers.
AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition
The upcoming AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition offers several new and enhanced features, including AMD Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), a new video driver-based resolution upscaling technology that delivers higher levels of performance and high-quality visuals in thousands of games.
AMD Advantage Framework and smart technologies AMD
AMD Advantage laptops are designed to deliver best-in-class gaming experiences, delivering new levels of performance and responsiveness. AMD has introduced a number of updates to its portfolio of AMD smart technologies to improve gaming performance and extend battery life for AMD Advantage laptops, including AMD SmartShift Max, AMD SmartShift Eco and AMD Smart Access Graphics technologies. AMD Advantage continues to expand in 2022 with new AMD Ryzen processors, AMD Radeon graphics, and more than 20 new laptop models.
AMD Ryzen Desktop Solutions Updates
Showcasing the progress made in the desktop space, AMD has revealed its 2022 Enthusiast Desktop Roadmap.
- New Ryzen 7 5800X3D desktop processor featuring AMD 3D V-Cache technology delivers the world’s fastest gaming experience and will be available on socket AM4 this spring[iii].
- AMD also previewed the next generation Ryzen™ 7000 series processors based on the “Zen 4” core, built on 5nm process technology on the new AM5 socket, which will provide unprecedented AMD processor leadership starting in the second half of 2022.
