We tested the release Dragon's Dogma 2 at the highest graphics settings, on video cards from the GEFORCE RTX and RADEON RX series. Also, during the tests we conducted, we assessed the performance and quality of the graphic display of the game itself.

This subsection of our review highlights the main graphical aspects of this game. Particular attention is paid to the version of the graphics engine used, the version of the API used, graphic settings and the quality of development of the main visual aspects.

"Dragon's Dogma 2" is an action RPG game developed and published by Capcom. This is a sequel to the game "Dragon's Dogma", released in 2012.

In "Dragon's Dogma 2", players take on the role of a character called "Arisen", a hero marked by a dragon whom he must defeat. During the game, players explore the world, complete quests, and fight monsters while participating in a geopolitical conflict between two kingdoms. Players can create and customize their character and their Pawn companion with different genders, appearances and races, as well as recruit additional Pawns created by other players.

The game takes place in an open world that is four times the size of the map in the first game, and is populated by various races, including humans, beastmen and elves. The game features a dynamic day-night cycle that affects the creatures encountered and their strength.

Development of "Dragon's Dogma 2" is led by Hideaki Itsuno. One of the team's main goals was to make improvements to the game mechanics of its predecessor and include features that were cut from the first game due to the lack of technology at the time. The team also took inspiration from Grand Theft Auto V when creating the game's world and emergent gameplay elements.

"Dragon's Dogma 2" was announced by Capcom in June 2022 and presented with a trailer at the PlayStation Showcase in May 2023. In November 2023, a screening of "Dragon's Dogma 2" was held, where the game's release date was announced.

"Dragon's Dogma 2" is being developed on the RE Engine, which is Capcom's own development engine. This engine was used to create such popular games as "Devil May Cry 5", "Street Fighter 6" and remakes of "Resident Evil". RE Engine is known for its ability to squeeze the most out of modern gaming consoles and PCs, delivering impressive graphics, complex lighting and shadow effects that make traveling across a vast map more immersive.

Dragon's Dogma 2 features an improved combat system and a deep invocation system, allowing players to specialize in different combat roles such as Fighter, Archer, Thief and Mage. Each Vocation has specific abilities and playstyles, allowing players to tailor their tactical approach to combat scenarios. Additionally, the unique relationship between the Overlord and his Pawns is a key element of the gameplay, with players able to customize the skills and appearance of their main Pawn.

Exploration is an important part of "Dragon's Dogma 2", where the open world of Gransys is full of secrets and monsters. Players will encounter a variety of monsters, each encounter offering unique challenges that require adapting their fighting style and harnessing the powers of their chosen summoning. In addition, the game promises improved engine capabilities and a host of additional content, including musical accompaniment and special in-game items such as the Ring of Confidence and Smoke Beacons, which will enrich the gameplay.

Overall, "Dragon's Dogma 2" was an exciting adventure thanks to the powerful RE Engine, improved combat mechanics and provocation system, and deep open world exploration.

DIFFERENT QUALITY MODES

In-game graphics settings at minimum reduce the level of detail and disable various graphics functions to improve performance, while settings at maximum enable all possible effects, providing the highest quality and detail of the image.

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality using MSI Afterburner. The purpose of the test is to determine how video cards from different manufacturers behave under the same conditions. Below is a video of the test segment:

 Our video cards were tested at resolutions of 1920x1080 , 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 with maximum graphics quality settings.

In the video card test, the default resolution is 1920x1080; other resolutions are added and removed manually. You can also remove and add any positions of video cards. You can also select any of our test processors from the list in the drop-down menu, comparing its performance with the given video card tests (by default, the most productive solution is selected). The test is carried out on the most powerful CPU in this game and is scaled to other processors, taking into account their testing on NVIDIA and AMD video cards.

Testing of video memory consumed by the game was carried out by  MSI Afterburner. The indicator was based on results on video cards from AMD and NVIDIA at resolutions of  1920x1080, 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 with various anti-aliasing settings. By default, the graph displays the most current solutions. Other video cards are added and removed from the chart at the request of the reader.

Testing was carried out at a resolution of 1920x1080. In the processor test, you can remove or add any processor positions. You can also select any tested video card from the list in the drop-down menu, comparing its performance with the given processor test results  (by default, the most productive solution from NVIDIA is selected). Testing takes place on the most powerful NVIDIA and AMD video cards and scales to low-end models.

The test was carried out on the basic configuration of Core i 9 13900K with 32 GB DDR5 6400 MHz pre-installed memory. All used RAM was taken as an indicator. The RAM test for the entire system was carried out on various video cards without launching third-party applications (browsers, etc.).
