Total War Saga: TROY is an exciting strategy inspired by the main events of Homer's Iliad. Users will have the opportunity to go to the distant era of the Bronze Age to see with their own eyes the true and mythical events that took place many centuries ago.

In that legendary age, mighty heroes still walked this land, but they could not save the world from a grandiose conflict. A brutal armed confrontation flared up after the daring act of the Trojan prince Paris, who kidnapped Helen herself from Sparta - the wife of King Menelaus. He, in turn, vows to return the girl at any cost, and for this he calls for help from his own brother, King Agamemnon.

 Armed with nothing but a defensive sonic device, you'll use stealth tactics to avoid death amidst a cult of sonic-based AI enemies. Set in 1898, the game is inspired by a disturbing Welsh short story by Elizabeth Williams. This is the story of a family empire driven by torture, slavery, piracy and supernatural mysteries that reign in the hotel grounds.

Total War Saga TROY is based on the Warscape+ game engine. Warscape is a game engine developed by the British company The Creative Assembly for internal use in their games in the Total War series. Warscape is intended for use only on personal computers running Microsoft Windows. The first game to use Warscape, Empire: Total War, the fifth game in the Total War series, was released on March 3, 2009.

Beginning with Rome: Total War in 2004, the Total War games used the Total War engine, which was used until Medieval II: Total War - Kingdoms in 2007. After that, it was decided to create a new engine - "Warscape", the first game on which was "Empire: Total War" in 2009. During the development of Napoleon: Total War, the engine was "well polished," Craig Laycock of The Creative Assembly said in an interview with Armchair General. However, during the development of Total War: Shogun 2, the engine was further reworked and significantly improved. The main innovation was support for DirectX 11 and some AMD technologies: Eyefinity and CrossFireX.

"Total War: Shogun 2" was promoted by AMD as part of a marketing campaign for HD 6xxx series graphics cards as a game that actively uses the capabilities of DirectX 11. However, a few days before the release of the game, it became known that it would not contain DX11 mode. The developers stated that they did not have time to finalize this mode, and it will be released later as a patch. The heavily modified Warscape engine in Total War: Rome 2 allows you to see exotic cities in great detail, and the new camera makes it possible to observe the battlefield from any angle.

In Total War Warhammer, the developers moved away from the 32-bit engine and the game runs in 64-bit mode by default, which means it will no longer be limited to two gigabytes of allocated RAM.

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality by MSI Afterburner. The purpose of the test is to determine how video cards from different manufacturers behave under the same conditions. Below is a video of the test segment :

 In the test of video cards, the default resolution is 1920x1080, other resolutions are added and removed manually. You can also remove and add any positions of video cards. You can also choose any of our test processors from the list in the drop-down menu, comparing its performance with the given video card tests (by default, the most productive solution is selected). The test is performed on the most productive CPU and scaled to other processors, taking into account their testing on NVIDIA and AMD video cards.

At a resolution  of 1920x1080,   an average FPS of 25 frames was shown by video cards of the Radeon RX 470 or GeForce GTX 1050 Ti level. A minimum FPS of at least 25 frames can be provided by video cards of the Radeon RX 580 or GeForce GTX 1650 level. A comfortable average FPS of 60 frames can be provided by GeForce GTX 1080 solutions .

At a resolution  of 2560x1440,  an average FPS of 25 frames was shown by video cards of  the Radeon RX 590 or GeForce GTX 1650s level. A minimum FPS of at least 25 frames can be provided by video cards of the Radeon RX Vega 56 or GeForce GTX 1060 level. A comfortable average FPS of 60 frames can be provided by GeForce RTX 2080 solutions .

At a resolution  of 3840x2160, an average FPS of 25 frames was shown by video cards of the Radeon VII or GeForce GTX 1070 Ti level . A minimum FPS of at least 25 frames can be provided by video cards of the GeForce RTX 2080 level . 

VIDEO MEMORY CONSUMPTION

Testing of the video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the  MSI Afterburner program. The results on video cards from AMD and NVIDIA at resolutions of  1920x1080 and 2560x1440 with various anti-aliasing settings were taken as the indicator. By default, the graph displays the most up-to-date solutions. Other graphics cards are added and removed from the chart at the reader's request.

The test was conducted on the base configuration of the Core i 9 10900K with 16 GB DDR4 4000 MGz pre-installed memory. All used RAM was taken as an indicator. The RAM test on the entire system was carried out on various video cards without running extraneous applications (browsers, etc.).
