DEVELOPMENT HISTORY

Star Citizen — is one of the most ambitious and long-awaited projects in the world of video games, having been in development for over a decade. Started as a crowdfunding campaign in 2012, the game attracted huge attention due to the promise of creating an unprecedented open-world space simulation with freedom of action. The founder of the project was Chris Roberts, known for creating the cult series Wing CommanderRoberts and his team at Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) set out to create a game that would allow players to explore a vast universe, control spaceships, engage in combat, as well as trade and carry out various missions.

The game uses its own engine, created on the basis of CryEngine, which has been modified and improved by the Cloud Imperium Games team. Graphics in Star Citizen impresses with the level of detail and realism, offering players photorealistic images of spaceships, planets and stations. Environment in Star Citizen also impressive: the planets and moons look as if they were created by hand. The dynamic lighting system allows you to create realistic scenes with changing shadows depending on the position of the stars and artificial light sources. GAME ENGINE

Star Citizen uses a specially modified version CryEngineknown as Star Engine.
