DEVELOPMENT HISTORY

Starfield: Shattered Space — is the first major story expansion for the sci-fi RPG Starfield, created by Bethesda Game Studios. Following the success of the main game, which was released in September 2023, the developers quickly began creating additional content to expand the universe. Starfield and offer players new exciting stories and locations. Shattered Space is designed not only to add new storylines, but also to deepen the gameplay through expanded mechanics and additional features.

The main focus of the development was to ensure that the expansion retained the spirit of the main game, but at the same time brought fresh elements to the narrative and gameplay. Shattered Space — large-scale space conflicts and the discovery of new star systems that were blocked for players in the original game. The developers wanted to offer players the opportunity to explore even more dangerous and unexplored corners of the galaxy, where political intrigue, clashes of corporate interests and clashes of civilizations become the main driving force of the plot.

Development Shattered Space began almost simultaneously with the final phase of development of the main game, which allowed the team to take into account the future expansion of the universe from the very beginning. Each element of the spaceships, from the outer hull to the interior, was worked out taking into account the latest rendering technologies. This allows players to not only enjoy the visual component of the game, but also enjoy controlling the ships and interacting with the crew. All this makes the add-on not only an expansion of the game content, but also an improvement in visual perception.

GAME ENGINE

Game engine Starfield: Shattered Space has been refined and optimized for more complex space travel and combat mechanics. One of the key innovations is the improved interstellar travel system. Players can now explore even more planets, including those that were previously inaccessible. Importantly, each new journey can now be accompanied by unique random events, such as pirate attacks, ship malfunctions, or unexpected encounters with alien races.

DIFFERENT QUALITY MODES

Testing of video memory consumed by the game was carried out by the program MSI Afterburner. The indicator was based on the results on video cards from AMD and NVIDIA with separate screen sizes 1920×1080, 2560×1440 and 3840×2160 with various anti-aliasing settings.
