Steelrising is a third-person action/RPG. The story takes place in a parallel world to ours, during the Great French Revolution. However, unlike standard history, at this time the Mithr had already overtaken our technology, and real intelligent robots appeared. They are very close to humans in appearance, but at the same time they have much greater physical strength and are practically indestructible with simple weapons of those years.
King Louis XVI assembles an entire army of mechanized warriors who must suppress the uprising and stop the revolution. At first he succeeds, until a girl named Aegis appears, who is the most perfect humanoid mechanism. She has not only an appearance almost like a real woman, but also feelings, although she was created as a weapon of destruction. Seeing the tyranny of the king and the oppression of ordinary people, she of her own free will decides to side with the protesters and help destroy the army of robots led by the king.
