Official description of the game
Superstars V8 Next Challenge is a sequel to the racing simulator Superstars V8 Racing from the Milestone studio. The new official licensed game has everything that fans of realistic racing simulators love so much! The behavior of a car on the highway depends on many factors, including constantly changing weather conditions. Need to tighten a couple of nuts, change tires or completely change the car settings? Use your engineering skills to the fullest!
And if you don’t want to bother, choose a different difficulty level and arrange enchanting arcade races. You can fight both computer opponents and other players – up to 16 people can take part in each online race.
Review: Playability
The SuperStars Series is a touring car racing series created in 2003 in Italy. Any cars that comply with the “philosophy of the series” are allowed into the series – 4-door cars (sedans) with V8 engines with a displacement of 3 to 7 liters, and a length of more than 4,2 m. It was on the basis of these competitions that the game series Superstars V8 was recreated.
Having such high-level projects as Dirt, Grid and NFS Shift in your gaming experience, it’s difficult for you to rearrange anything at a lower level. But it’s time to come down to earth – high-quality projects do not come out every day or even month. Therefore, as one smart book teaches us, we need to be happy with less.
Superstars V8 Next Challenge is direct heir Superstars V8. What has changed since the release of the first part? You can safely answer – practically nothing. The only innovation is a slightly greater variety of game tracks and races. The controls in the game are not very sluggish, so you don’t have to complain about a cow on the ice – the car behaves quite confidently and does not fly far off the track when turning. By the way, the variety of vehicles is quite good, but it cannot be called luxurious either.
We invite you to check out part of the Superstars V8 Next Challenge video, where you can see for yourself the quality of this product:
It is a pity that most developers have moved away from the concept of street racing and the lion’s share of modern games on this topic are sports simulators. Well, at least they didn’t go too far with the controls, as they say. So, Superstars V8 Next Challenge is dedicated to all the avid simulator players. The rest of the audience does not appreciate this product.
Review: Game Graphics
The graphics in the game turned out to be quite mediocre – of course, you can’t call it backward, but it also fell a little short of being high-tech. The sports car models were especially successful in the game; in terms of their quality, they were almost equal to those in Need For Speed: Shift. The tracks also look okay and are quite nicely designed.
But if you take a closer look, you will notice some unfinished nature of the rest of the environment. So if you are not rushing at exorbitant speed, these gaps will be an eyesore. Therefore, for lovers of beautiful pictures, we do not recommend releasing the gas button…
There is damage to the cars, and physics too, so the developers of Superstars V8 are not far behind the major projects of other companies. And from a graphical point of view, Superstars V8 Next Challenge can be called a strong average in this genre of games.
Review: Resource-intensive game
For Superstars V8 Next Challenge you will need a Core 2 Duo 2,33 GHz or Athlon 64 x2 5600 processor and 2 gigabytes of RAM.
All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality using Fraps. in the most resource-intensive place in the game. Our video cards are tested generally in all different types of screens and you can evaluate how your video card behaves relative to other modern solutions in almost all different types of gaming screens. All video cards were tested with maximum quality graphics settings. The game has an internal limit of 60 FPS, which is not related to the activation of vertical sync.
Testing at maximum quality settings 1024×768
Testing at maximum quality settings 1280×1024
Testing at maximum quality settings 1680×1050
Testing at maximum quality settings 1920×1080
It is clear that the game reacts quite warmly to modern video accelerators and most users will be quite comfortable playing at maximum graphics quality settings. However, on budget cards you will need to tone down the game graphics somewhat. Of course, assessing game graphics as a whole, this result is very predictable.
Conclusion: A game for fans of the simulation genre. And a small bonus in the form of normal controls, coupled with a good picture and a modest appetite for GPUs by modern standards, will help the game find its fans.
