Official description of the game
The Scourge Project is a classic story-driven shooter, similar to Gears of War. Created using Unreal Engine 3 technologies, it is being developed simultaneously for PCs and new generation consoles (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3). The highlight of The Scourge Project is the cooperative mode.
The game will have 4 main characters, each of whom represents a separate storyline in a solo playthrough. Having gathered together, they turn into an invincible squad of thugs sent by humanity to fight the forces of Evil.
Review: Playability
The Scourge Project a few years ago seemed like a very hit and high-quality product, with an excellent plot and unsurpassed graphics from Unreal. In some ways, he was supposed to be the killer of Gears of War. But time passes, and as we ourselves know, this never benefits any project – all its novelty and intended splendor are lost. Over time colossal ideas become only shadows of modern giants.
We invite you to watch part of The Scourge Project video, where you can see for yourself the quality of this product:
There are some shortcomings in the game, but what would we do without them? And the main one is the very weak AI of the opponents: our enemies can smartly walk right past you in order to hide behind the cover that is behind you. At the same time, you can safely fire at the enemy from head to toe – his main goal is to hide, and then start shooting. The artificial intelligence of their partners is even more annoying – they can rush at enemies like an embrasure, without thinking about their position and number, as a result of which they have to go through the same location after very, very many attempts…
Of course, one cannot say that The Scourge Project is too bad: the locations are more or less, the plot is quite tolerable, and what is the value of playing cooperatively with your friends… The game has its advantages and it will definitely find its fans among avid gamers, especially that subsequent Gears of War games on PC have been cancelled.
Review: Game Graphics
U debuted here too. Probably any schoolchild will be able to identify it with the naked eye. This in itself is not surprising – the engine is quite polished for all modern game consoles, is not very abstruse and, moreover, is not too expensive at the moment.
The developers of The Scourge Project did not want to become the forefront of graphics technology, as a result of which one should not expect outstanding visual delights from the game. The game looks the same as the majority of games built on this engine – without improvements or embellishments…
Review: Resource-intensive game
For The Scourge Project you will need the same as for the majority of games built on the Unreal Engine 3 – a Core 2 Duo 2,33 GHz processor or Athlon 64 x2 5200+ and 2 gigabytes of RAM.

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality using the Fraps program. the most resource-intensive place in the game.
Our video cards are tested generally in all different types of screens and you can evaluate how your video card behaves relative to other modern solutions in almost all different types of gaming screens. All video cards were tested with maximum quality graphics settings. However, this time, due to the low resource consumption of the GPU, the tests were carried out at separate screen sizes of 1280×1024 and 1920×1080.
Testing at maximum quality settings 1280×1024
Testing at maximum quality settings 1920×1080
As you can see from the graphs, the game is a little more sympathetic to Nvidia cards. But even in any case, with a resolution of 1280×1024, video cards of the Radeon HD 2900 or GeForce 8600 GTS level and higher will be quite sufficient.
Conclusion: The Scourge Project would have been quite a hit game if it had come out two years earlier, but alas, not now. However, the Gears of War style gameplay and quite affordable system requirements will help this product find its candidates.
