Official description of the game
Set in the dark, warlike world of the sci-fi universe of Warhammer 40000, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising places players at the center of a galactic struggle between ancient enemies. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising will introduce the Chaos Space Marines as a new playable army, continue the original’s single-player campaign, add new war-gear and raise the level cap to 30. Relic Entertainment will also add new maps for multiplayer and new units for the first four race
Veterans of the first Dawn of War II campaign will be able to use their existing army to join the fight against the Black Legion of Chaos in 20 new missions. Newcomers will also start the game with Space Marine units already equipped. The powerful weapons of the forces of Chaos can be used against themselves, but this can lead to dire consequences. Will you risk corruption for more power?
Review: Playability
We got to know Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War II last year. This game brought us several innovations to the world of Warhammer 40000 strategies. Firstly, the number and size of commanded units was sharply limited – now we had to take care of and count every soldier. Secondly, we were now unable to build anything and all our costs were replenished from outside. And most importantly, the Warhammer 40000 series has ceased to be a purebred strategy and adopted an RPG component.
И that same us brought Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising ? But essentially nothing. It is very difficult to call it an independent project. In essence, this is a regular game addon that was added to the original version of the game. We didn’t get anything revolutionary from Chaos Rising – new companies and a little more leveling up of game characters.
We invite you to check out part of the video Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising, where you can see for yourself the quality of this product:
Those who expected something more from Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War II will receive something less. And those same players who waited days and nights for the continuation of their favorite series will be quite satisfied.
Review: Game Graphics
The graphics have not undergone any changes since last year. All the same polygons, models and textures. By today’s standards it looks a little poor, but thanks to the efforts of the developers it is quite nice. Of course, we will keep silent about shadows – this is a separate conversation, for which the developers should be scolded a little…
The battles, of course, are epic in nature: large-scale shootouts, explosions and colorful brawls – all badaboom special effects, as expected, are performed at an unsurpassed level. As befits the Warhammer 40000 series, this graphical component of the game always attracts with its colorful beauty.
The graphics are not very technologically advanced by modern standards, but they are quite pleasant and balanced. Now let’s see how this “beauty” will affect our beloved hardware…
Review: Resource-intensive game
For Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising you will need a Core 2 Duo 2,66 GHz or Athlon 64 x2 6000+ processor and 2 gigabytes of RAM.

The game has a built-in benchmark in its graphics settings, which made our work a little easier. The benchmark is stuffed to the brim with explosions and shootouts from a motley crowd. So its bulky load on video cards seemed quite acceptable to us.
Our video cards are tested generally in all different types of screens and you can evaluate how your video card behaves relative to other modern solutions in almost all different types of gaming screens. All video cards were tested with maximum quality graphics settings.
Testing at maximum quality settings 1024×768
Testing at maximum quality settings 1280×1024
Testing at maximum quality settings 1680×1050
Testing at maximum quality settings 1920×1080
Although the game contains advertisements for ATI cards in its content, their advantage over Nvidia is very negligible. Having very modest graphics by modern standards, Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising has very immodest appetites for the graphics subsystem. And although the average FPS threshold is quite high, its low level falls below the plinth…
Conclusion: Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War II – Chaos Rising is a great gift for fans of last year’s project. Those who expected the resuscitation of the dominance of the strategic mode will be disappointed, the game still has a strong RPG bias.
