Official description of the game
World of Tanks is a dynamic tank PvP battle, participation in which will require the player to be able to plan their actions and work harmoniously as a team. The game will feature more than 50 models of Soviet and German tanks from the Second World War, and the global map will provide a lot of amazing opportunities for fans of tough clan gameplay.
An exciting, breathtaking combination of action and epic tank battles, it contains all the elements of a real blockbuster. Excellent graphics allow you to fully enjoy the fast-paced battles on the battlefields.
Review: Playability
It’s been a long time since developers spoiled us with outlandish products in which we could experience something new and unknown. Everything has long been following the same type of well-worn path, where a step to the right or a step to the left is equal to execution.
And so our Belarusian compatriots, so to speak, decided to give us a little surprise and presented to our attention their World Of Tanks project, which is now undergoing active beta testing and is preparing for an early release.
Without delving too deeply into the simulation mode, they developed a magnificent online tank arcade game, which in its playability is incredibly addictive and evokes an association with distant childhood, when the first 8-bit games appeared and wars on those virtual tanks seemed to be the pinnacle of virtual realism.
In addition to good drive, the game contains RPG elements – you can pump up your tank to the maximum, turning it into a powerful battle fortress. Of course, at first it’s very difficult, the primitive tanks of the First World War that are at your disposal are not very impressive and you feel like cannon fodder on the battlefield. But later, having earned some credits, we buy more advanced equipment and begin to feel much more confident. I was very pleased with the leveling and variety of different modifications for tanks. In battles, you need to act harmoniously and as a team. Alone, they will make you into a regular meat cutlet.
Of course, the lack of respawns is a little depressing and your damaged tank languishes on the battlefield until the online battle ends (but the developers at least left us the opportunity to contemplate the battles from the perspective of the players remaining in the battle – and this is pleasing). There are several multiplayer maps and we hope that with the release of the full version there will be even more of them.
World Of Tanks is an excellent gift for fans of heavy equipment and military simulators. And the innovative interpretation of this genre will not allow you to simply pass it by.
Review: Game Graphics
Graphics are like graphics. Nothing superfluous – everything is simple and beautiful. The environment is quite nice and very picturesquely conveys the spirit of tank battles. Particular attention is paid to the detailing of the tanks; it is simply magnificent.
The background picture, of course, lags somewhat behind the nice tank models and is at a slightly lower level. The physics was also not very impressive and we hardly encountered any destruction of the environment.
But we remind you that this is just beta testing and it is quite possible that in the full part of World Of Tanks we will see more modern graphical improvements.
Review: Resource-intensive game
For World Of Tanks you will not need much by modern gaming standards – a Core 2 Duo 2,4 GHz or Athlon 64 x2 5800 processor and 2 gigabytes of RAM.
All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality using Fraps. in the most resource-intensive place in the game.
Our video cards are tested generally in all different types of screens and you can evaluate how your video card behaves relative to other modern solutions in almost all different types of gaming screens. All video cards were tested with maximum quality graphics settings.
Testing at maximum quality settings 1024×768
Testing at maximum quality settings 1280×1024
Testing at maximum quality settings 1680×1050
Testing at maximum quality settings 1920×1080
Of course, optimization for this level of graphics is a little lame… And for you to be more or less comfortable playing, you will need a video card of at least average level. But we still remind you that this is a beta version of the game and in the full version of World Of Tanks the performance will be more optimized.
Conclusion: World Of Tanks left us with only positive emotions. Very fresh ideas in terms of tank battles will appeal to many players.
