Official description of the game

Publisher Black Bean Games has bought the rights to create games under the World Rally Championship (WRC) brand. The development of a new racing simulator was entrusted to the Milestone studio. Everything in the game will be incredibly official – only real teams and real drivers taking part in the World Rally Championship. Black Bean Games has officially announced that the continuation of the series of rally racing simulators World Rally Championship will go on sale in Europe on October 8 this year in versions for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

World Rally Championship 2010 will be the first game in the series in five years and will feature all the official licensed cars, drivers and co-drivers from this rally season, as well as 78 tracks. The game will feature a new career mode, Road to the WRC, in which you will earn more than 50 different rewards, as well as a multiplayer component – details about the latter will be announced closer to release.

Review: Playability

We meet a new game that has appeared in the field of racing simulators – and its name is WRC FIA World Rally Championship. Translated, this name literally sounds like this – the World Rally Championship, and the game is based on a real rally series of races held by the International Automobile Federation (FIA) since 1973.

There is no significant content in the demo version – two single races and 2 cars to choose from. But even from this little we can see that the game is very similar to Colin McRae: DiRT, both in design and graphics. It is worth noting that the cars behave quite comfortably, which has a very positive effect on comfortable driving.

We invite you to evaluate part of the game walkthrough of the WRC FIA World Rally Championship Demo , where you can see for yourself the quality of this product:

Anything to say about the WRC FIA World Rally Championship Demo It’s still early – the demo is meager and very much reminiscent of the first DiRT. With the release of the full version, perhaps there will be more variety, but for testing video cards, the demo version was quite enough for us…

Review: Game Graphics

WRC FIA World Rally Championship Demo has a good graphics component and even without support for the newfangled graphics API DirectX X 11 can easily compete with such well-deserved leaders in picture beauty among racing simulators as Formula 1 2010 and Dirt 2.

 Launcher_2010-10-01_19-18-53-92

I was very pleased with the high-quality rendering of the cars and the real reproduction of the scenery of the surrounding world. Although in this regard there is a double-edged sword – despite all the visual beauty of the surrounding world, its woodenness and inanimateness are striking, which is very noticeable when the car comes to a complete stop.

Physics in the WRC FIA World Rally Championship Demo It’s very tight, and to crash your car you’d rather have to drive your mouse into the monitor than crash into anything. But this is forgivable, considering that the game was developed by Milestone, and not some Codemasters.

 Review: Resource-intensive game

For Superstars WRC FIA World Rally Championship Demo You will need a Core 2 Duo 2,66 GHz or Athlon 64 x2 6000 processor and 2 gigabytes of RAM.

All video cards were tested at maximum graphics quality using the Fraps program. Less productive video cards are tested based on the Core 2 Quad Q9550 processor, and more productive ones are based on Core™ i7 processors.

 Launcher_2010-10-01_19-22-17-49

Our video cards are tested generally in all different screen sizes, and you can evaluate how your video card behaves relative to other modern solutions in almost all different gaming screen sizes. The anti-aliasing quality was set to the maximum allowed by the game itself, namely 4X.

Testing at maximum quality settings 1024×768

WRC_FIA_World_Rally_1024

So, at a resolution of 1024×768, for maximum graphics settings, users will need video cards of the Radeon HD 3870 or GeForce 8800 GT level.

Testing at maximum quality settings 1280×1024

WRC_FIA_World_Rally_1280

When increasing the resolution to 1280×1024, you will need a slightly more powerful video system, namely a Radeon HD 3870 or GeForce 8800 GTX.

Testing at maximum quality settings 1680×1050

WRC_FIA_World_Rally_1680

The 1680×1050 resolution places slightly higher demands on video cards and places them at the level of Radeon HD 4830 or GeForce GTS 250.

Testing at maximum quality settings 1920×1080

 WRC_FIA_World_Rally_1920

Finally, with an HD resolution of 1920×1080, it will be necessary to have such video cards as Radeon HD 5750 or GeForce GTX 260. Not for the sake of discussion, we can say that Radeon cards look more preferable for a more comfortable game in the WRC FIA World Rally Championship.

Final World: WRC FIA World Rally Championship Demo It looks like a tempting product and is quite capable of enticing rally enthusiasts to buy the full version. The system requirements are quite tolerable and can be matched by many gaming systems.
