The official description of the game

Description: Dragon Age: Origins is a fantastic RPG in a new setting, created by Bioware. Your adventures will take place in the kingdom of Ferelden. Explore blood-drenched battlefields, ancient forests and mighty cities. You will resist the power of magic when you find the abandoned wizard's tower, then go through the corridors of the dwarven kingdom. But be careful!

Politician dwarves can be more dangerous than the worst monsters! It's just a real world, as real as ours, but only magic changes all sections of society. This is the world of magic! Explore this world following an interesting storyline. It's up to you to choose what to do with the population: destroy people, influence the fate of villages, cities, regions! Create a party of unique personalities that can be your friends, love or just allies.

Features of the game:
You are the master of your destiny. You decide with whom to be at enmity and with whom to be friends. Both your own destiny and the events taking place in the world around you depend on this choice.
Prelude to adventure. Who the hero becomes in the game, where he begins his journey and what happens to him in the future, depends on how you live the very first, initial episode, which serves as a prelude to the whole saga.
Unique battles. Thanks to the innovative scalable combat system, you will be able to take part in epic battles. Entire hordes of monsters and gigantic monsters will oppose you, but by wisely using the unique abilities of your entire squad, you will be able to give your enemies a worthy rebuff!
Combined magic. Let opponents tremble before your magic! In Dragon Age: Origins, you can combine different spells to unleash devastating magical powers on your enemies.
What does not kill you makes you stronger. Each new battle hardens your fighters - they gain experience, master new spells and skills, acquire new talents and gain access to even more powerful weapons.

Review: Playability

We can describe all the charms of this game from many angles, tell how wonderful it is and much, much more. However, we will not do this.

DAOrigins_2009-11-28_19-43-54-79

There are two reasons for this: the first is that the game is really very good in terms of gameplay and deserves special attention from the players, and the second is that many resources got their hands on this game a month before the release and conducted thorough reviews. As always, we are focusing on the graphics and performance of modern graphics accelerators, so a lot of interesting things await us further ...

Overview: Game graphics

The game graphics did not immediately impress, to be honest. Looking at the next incarnation of the anrial engine, nothing good came to mind. But that was only at first.

DAOrigins_2009-11-28_19-44-59-27

As soon as game events began to develop, the game immediately acquired a certain charm and sympathy, and the graphics immediately seemed prettier and very modern. I was very pleased with the animation and the movements of the characters - they really look solid. The elaboration of the surrounding world was also a success, but with some caveat - the vegetation, unlike everything else, does not look very colorful and creates memories of games of bygone years...

DAOrigins_2009-11-28_20-02-14-36

Some players will be outraged by the dynamic absence of day and night, but this is explained by the desire of the authors to immerse the player more in the virtual world - the time of day corresponds to the nature of the missions.

DAOrigins_2009-11-28_19-48-19-51

We believe the developers could have improved the game's graphics even more, but the time to start development makes itself felt, and the game itself is able to show an ardent appetite for the internal stuffing in your PC... Overview: The resource intensity of the game In order to fully

enjoy

everyone The charms of the gaming processor and, accordingly, graphics, you really need a processor at least Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 and 2 gigabytes of RAM. But this is enough only with a stretch, and in some moments of the game, subsidence is possible. For a completely comfortable game, you need a dual or quad-core Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 processor and 3 gigabytes of memory.

During testing, we found a regularity: when we did a lot of graphical effects, such as multiple light sources, it was faster than the nvidia video card, but by a small margin. And when a game card has a large number of game components, ATI video cards break out into the winners, and very significantly.

In the presence of multiple lights, nvidia dominates. And the higher the resolution, the more caustic the lead - at a resolution of 1920x1080, the GTX 260 wins over the radeon 4890.

In the presence of an abundance of many game models and textures, the championship goes to the "red". As the resolution grows, nvidia strengthens its positions, but it never managed to take the first place. Also, at 1920x1080 resolution on the 9800GT, the playability becomes almost uncomfortable.

Even not the most advanced processor was able to overcome the barrier of gaming 25 frames, so there will be no reason for gamers to worry. Going from two cores to four gives an increase, but so insignificant that buying a processor for this game is quite obvious.

Conclusion : The BioWare product turned out to be very solid. We do not insist that this is an RPG of the decade, but we strongly recommend playing it. Especially for those who have quite modern "iron" ...
