ASUS introduces devices based on new AMD Ryzen processors

ASUS introduces the ROG Strix GL10DH, a high-performance, affordable gaming PC that is one of the first in the world to use the third generation AMD Ryzen processor with the innovative Zen 2 microarchitecture developed by AMD (NASDAQ: AMD). The Strix GL10DH was showcased during AMD's Next Horizon Gaming press conference at E3 Los Angeles on June 10th.

The TUF Gaming and ROG Zephyrus series laptops feature new Ryzen mobile processors, with the Gaming FX505DV featuring a fast 144Hz, 3ms display and fast GeForce RTX 2060 graphics, while the ROG Zephyrus G GA502 is an ultra-thin gaming system with long battery life, affordable for a wide range of users.

Matisse processors for new gaming PCs

Equipped with the latest Ryzen series processors, including the Ryzen 7 3700X (8 cores, 16 threads), the Strix GL10DH offers value for money and versatility.

The third generation Ryzen processors, codenamed Matisse, are based on the Zen 2 microarchitecture, which boasts a 15% increase in performance per frequency compared to the previous version. Thanks to the increased cache and increased frequency of work, they speed up the work of both games and any other applications.

The graphics subsystem of the Strix GL10DH computer is represented by the ASUS Turbo GeForce RTX 2070 graphics card and Phoenix series models (up to the GeForce RTX 2060). Based on the innovative Turing microarchitecture, this graphics card combines real-time ray tracing, artificial intelligence and programmable shaders to achieve more realistic lighting, shading and reflections in a PC game. In addition, GPU computing resources can be used for a range of other applications, from 3D modeling to deep neural network learning.

The video card is installed in the ASUS Prime B450M-K motherboard, which has been tested for hours of compatibility and stable operation with various peripheral devices. The Strix GL10DH can also be configured with a 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD for fast application loading, and up to a 1TB HDD for storing large collections of files. The amount of RAM is up to 32 gigabytes.

All of these components are packaged in a sleek 27L case adorned with Aura lighting featuring Aura Sync technology. The side panel is available in two versions: with enhanced ventilation or in transparent acrylic. The second option allows you to admire the illumination of the components. The internal space of the case is divided into two chambers for more efficient cooling: the processor, video card and motherboard are separated from the power supply and drives.

Reliable Power

Earlier in 2019, the TUF Gaming FX505DY laptop became the first to use the AMD Picasso platform, which combines a Ryzen mobile processor with discrete Radeon graphics and a FreeSync display. It was followed by the TUF Gaming FX505 DD/DT/DU models, which paired the same processor with faster GeForce GTX graphics cards.

The mobile AMD Ryzen 7 3750H (4 cores, 8 threads) is used as a processor. Like its predecessors, the TUF Gaming FX505DV is extremely rugged, backed up by MIL-STD-810G military standard testing, from drop and vibration tests to extreme temperature or high altitude testing.

Play everywhere

The Ryzen mobile platform makes ultra-slim gaming laptops more affordable, with the ROG Zephyrus G GA502 being a great example. At just 20mm thin and weighing no more than 2.1kg, it comes with a powerful configuration that can include a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics card and a 120Hz thin bezel display. Moreover, in Turbo mode, the GPU accelerates up to 1435 MHz with a power consumption of 60 W (ROG Boost technology). Such computing power will be enough for both games and streaming.

Volvo Group selects NVIDIA to transform freight transportation

Based in the Swedish city of Gothenburg, Volvo Group announced the transition to the NVIDIA DRIVE autonomous driving platform to train, test and bring to market self-driving vehicles, including public transport, trucking, waste collection, construction, mining, forestry and other types of it.

By bringing AI algorithms to all these areas of transport, the Volvo Group and NVIDIA will be able to create new vehicles and provide more efficient services.

The engineering teams of both companies will collaborate both in Gothenburg and Silicon Valley. Together, they will develop the DRIVE AGX Pegasus platform for automotive AI computing and use the DRIVE AV stack for 360-degree sensor data processing, data interpretation, map localization, and route planning. Engineering teams will also test and validate systems using the NVIDIA DRIVE simulation hardware and software platform.

NVIDIA provides CUDA support for Arm

NVIDIA today announced support for Arm-based CPUs, enabling manufacturers to build even more cost-effective AI-enabled exascale supercomputers.

By the end of this year, NVIDIA will provide the Arm® ecosystem with access to a complete AI and HPC software stack capable of accelerating over 600 HPC applications and all AI frameworks. The stack includes all NVIDIA CUDA-X AI™ and HPC libraries, GPU-accelerated AI frameworks, and software development tools such as OpenACC-enabled PGI compilers and profilers.


Once the optimization process is complete, NVIDIA will be able to offer acceleration to ALL key CPU architectures, including x86, POWER, and Arm, to the market.
