Crysis

In 2004, the German team Crytek Studios climbed the Olympus of the gaming industry with their debut shooter Far Cry. However, the significant tropical journey of Jack Carver, a former mercenary who rescued a mad doctor from a crowd of mutants under the canopy of palm trees, was still not much inferior to other "heavyweights" released in the same year - Doom 3 and Half-Life 2.

Nevertheless, the potential of the studio was obvious even to the blind, the developers were looking forward to continuing, but ... that's where things stalled. Disagreements with the publisher UbiSoft led to the fact that such a successful brand ceased to have anything to do with Crytek. But the creators of the most heavenly of all the islands did not even think to hang their noses - their new project, Crysis, loomed on the horizon.

A huge advantage of Crysis against the background of colleagues in the shop - great graphics. Pictures of this level, the owners of personal computers have not yet seen. Millions of worked particles, natural shadows, sun glare on grass and water - all this is mesmerizing. The dynamic change of day and night is worked out well - the local sunsets are simply amazing. The faces of the characters, their facial expressions and acting are incomparable. The only problem was that in 2007 there was no computer in the world that could run the project at the Very High settings level.

Another significant aspect of Crysis is physics. Absolutely everything lends itself to destruction: from small bushes to hefty barns. If desired, and with the proper amount of cartridges, you can mow acres of jungle - just to admire the work done. True, there are some flaws here too - for example, the bodies of defeated enemies often hang in the air. And if the battle was on the water, then they continue to swim after death.
