The GeForce4 MX440 was a tempting price/speed combination. At the time of release, the price of video cards based on the GeForce4 MX440 ranged from $112 to $140. This was lower than the GeForce3 Ti200, and certainly lower than the GeForce3. According to the tests of the GeForce4 MX440, it was quite close to the lowest level in the third Gefors series. If there was an opportunity for this video card, then it could generally compete in speed with the Ti200.

For home and office, NV17 was of interest, first of all, in terms of support for two monitors, the presence of a TV-out and a hardware MPEG-2 decoder.
