GeForce 4 Ti4800-SE

GeForce 4 Ti4800-SE
Some time after the release, Nvidia decided to start shipping two new variants of the NV28 chipset family: Ti 4800 and Ti 4800SE. The first one represented the Ti 4600 with support for AGP 8x mode, and the second - the Ti 4400 with the same function (although the letters SE in some way tuned in to thoughts about the superiority of the variant, but in the case of Nvidia they always symbolized some kind of inferiority). The company changed its decision to limit the NV28 family to only the Ti 4200-8x variant due to some shortage of updated chips, and also to fill in the gap before the GeForce FX (NV30) release. The release of the Ti 4800 and Ti 4800SE was not accompanied by noisy presentations, since the chips are doomed to a short market life due to the imminent rise of the GeForce FX.
