Analytics company TrendForce has declared Kingston Digital the largest independent SSD supplier in the retail channel in 2022.

Kingston Digital, Inc., a specialized division of the American company Kingston Technology, has been recognized as the largest independent SSD supplier in the retail channel in 2022. According to a report presented by analytical company TrendForce, the share of the California giant accounted for an impressive 28% of the 114 million devices that were shipped during the year.

Despite a 10.7% reduction in total shipments compared to 2021, last year the solid-state drive market restored the balance of supply and demand disrupted by the microchip shortage.

The main market trends continue to be determined by the demand for PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs, which laptop and PC manufacturers are replacing SATA devices with, promoting the further growth of key brands and increasing supplies.
