Seasonic Recommends Using a Hair Dryer to Bend 12VHPWR & 12V-2×6 Power Cables for GeForce RTX 40 GPUs

Seasonic, a power supply manufacturer, has offered an unconventional solution for managing power cables in the new GeForce RTX 40 graphics cards. The company suggests using a hair dryer to bend the 12VHPWR and 12V-2×6 power cables to facilitate easier installation within the computer case.

This recommendation comes as the new 12VHPWR / 12V-2x6 cables contain more wires compared to previous PCIe connectors, making them less flexible. Hence, Seasonic advises using the heat from a hair dryer to pre-bend the cable before connecting it.

The company has provided detailed instructions on using a hair dryer to bend the cables, including disconnecting the cable from the power supply and graphics card, heating the required area of the cable, and carefully connecting the connectors. It is crucial not to bend the cable or exert any unnecessary force on the connectors after installation.
