AMD Releases FidelityFX SDK 1.0: Comprehensive Library of 13 Game Development Technologies

AMD has taken a significant step forward in the graphics industry with the public release of its FidelityFX SDK 1.0. This software development kit gathers together 13 different technologies, all of which aim to enhance graphics and visuals in gaming. Included are three newly launched technologies: AMD FidelityFX Blur 1.0, Depth of Field 1.0, and Lens 1.0.

The existing tools in the FidelityFX suite, such as FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), CACAO 1.3, CAS 1.1, and more have been bundled together in this package to provide game developers with an efficient and accessible means to implement them. Each technology is accompanied by comprehensive documentation from AMD, serving as a detailed guide for its application.

The most notable addition in this release is the much-anticipated FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 3.0, announced back in March at GDC 2023. However, this technology isn't available yet.

AMD's FidelityFX SDK is a counterpart to NVIDIA's GameWorks middleware software. The primary goal of both platforms is to offer game developers a comprehensive toolkit of graphic enhancement technologies to improve game visuals and performance.
