The graphics accelerator MTT S80 from Moore Threads has shown disappointing results in games.

In its experimental testing, PC Watch found that the MTT S80 GPU consumes more power than the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti while delivering much lower performance. The average power consumption of the MTT S80 was 142W, well above the 60W consumed by the GTX 1050 Ti .

In gaming tests, the MTT S80 lagged noticeably behind the 2016 GTX 1050 Ti, despite the latter only having 4GB of DDR5 memory. This highlights performance issues with the MTT S80, which are likely due to lack of driver support and untapped potential.

Testing games at minimum settings revealed a number of rendering issues. The games were found to only run on DX9, the only mode in which the PC Watch was able to receive data.

However, PC Watch highlighted that the GPU has compatibility issues. When working with DX11, the GPU either hung or gave an incompatibility message. This shows that Moore Threads should improve GPU compatibility, probably by updating drivers.

The MTT S80 offers 16GB of GDDR6 memory which is another highlight of the device. But this did not help him to show decent results in 3DMark, where he repeatedly interrupted work in the middle of the test.
