Radeon HD 2900 XT 1Gb GDDR4
A variation of the Radeon HD 2900 XT with 1 gigabyte of DDR-4 memory on board. In games at that time, video memory volumes over 512 MB simply could not be used even at extreme resolutions with full-screen anti-aliasing enabled.
Increasing the memory frequency from 1650 to 2000 MHz could also do little with a 512-bit access bus, especially since the main factor hindering the R600's performance was by no means the memory subsystem. As a result, the ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT 1GB outperformed its predecessor with 512 MB GDDR3 memory by 4...5% at best, and more often than not showed almost the same performance.
