Working on the Radeon 400 series of video cards, AMD decided to endow the core of the younger Radeon RX 460 model with only 14 multiprocessor clusters (they are also CUs - computing units) out of a possible 16.

As a result, the number of stream processors, texture units and render units was 896, 56 and 16, respectively, although the Polaris 11 GPU physically contains 1024 SPs, 64 TMUs and 16 ROPs.

A little later, versions of video cards came out that had full-fledged 1024 SP on board, but they are produced in limited quantities. It is also possible, but only on some versions of the reference Radeon RX 460 video card, to flash the BIOS with a full set of computing units.
