Radeon RX 590
The Radeon RX 590 is based on the Polaris 30 chip on which the new model is based, a pure die shrink of Polaris 20 silicon on the 12nm FinFET process standard. In turn, Polaris 20 is a modification of the ancestor of the entire family, Polaris 10, optimized in terms of clock speeds and energy efficiency.

The transition from the 14 nm FinFET process technology to 12 nm FinFET allowed the updated GPU to increase this figure by 205 MHz - from 1340 in the Radeon RX 580 to 1545 MHz in the Radeon RX 590. Compared to the Radeon RX 480, the frequency increase was 279 MHz, and the design performance in standard precision floating point (FP32) operations increased by 22%.
