Radeon RX Vega 64

The new GPU repeated the configuration of the Radeon R9 Fury, including 4096 shader ALUs, 256 texture mapping units and 64 ROPs, adjusted for a different cache access organization and twice the L2 cache. Additional transistor budget (and in Vega 10 it is increased by 40% compared to Fiji) AMD spent on optimizing existing logic and introducing new features. In particular, AMD has expanded the computing capabilities of Vega by "densifying" operations of reduced bit depth. So, instead of 128 operations per clock on FP32 numbers that a single NCU (the main building block of a GCN containing 64 shader ALUs) performs, 256 FP16 operations or 512 FP8 operations can be performed.

Vega boasts support for features provided by Direct3D level 12_1. In fact, among modern GPUs, Vega has the most complete set of functions, including a number of optional ones.

The base frequency of the GPU in the air-cooled Radeon RX Vega 64 is 1247 MHz, the boost frequency of the video card is 1546 MHz, respectively. In terms of performance, the Radeon RX Vega 64 sits between the GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti.

The base GPU frequency of the water-cooled Radeon RX Vega 64 Liquid is 1406 MHz, while the boost frequency of the graphics card is 1677 MHz.
