Possible Forza Horizon 6 Announcement at Xbox Games Showcase on June 9

If the information posted by the Twitter account G.O.A.T. GAMING is to be believed, Microsoft might reveal a new game in the Forza Horizon series at the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase scheduled for June 9. The post mentions that "the new Forza is on its way," sparking a wave of anticipation among fans.

Currently, the latest game in the series is Forza Motorsport, which was released in October 2023. Before that, Forza Horizon 5 was released in November 2021. If the new Forza Horizon is indeed announced and released this year, it will mean a three-year gap between releases. This timing is familiar to fans, as previous Forza Horizon games were also released every 2-3 years.

Interest in the new announcement is driven not only by the long wait but also by the high standards set by the previous games in the series. Forza Horizon 5, for instance, was met with great enthusiasm and received high ratings from both critics and players. It was noted for its thrilling races across diverse locations, a rich selection of cars, and realistic graphics. Fans are eagerly awaiting what new features and improvements the next game will offer.

The history of the Forza Horizon series began in 2012, and since then, each new game has brought something unique and innovative. In 2014, Forza Horizon 2 was released, followed by Forza Horizon 3 in 2016, which introduced drift and off-road racing elements to the series. Forza Horizon 4, released in 2018, added changing seasons, significantly altering the gameplay experience.

Thus, each new game in the series not only maintained a high level of quality but also introduced new elements, pushing the boundaries of the racing game genre. If the rumors about Forza Horizon 6 are confirmed, it will be a significant event in the gaming world, and fans will be eagerly awaiting its release.

Codemasters Share Details on F1 24 Ahead of Launch

With two weeks left before the launch of F1 24, the latest installment in the licensed Formula 1 racing game series, Codemasters answered several questions about the new features and improvements in the game. The answers were provided by Senior Creative Director Lee Mather and Senior Producer Simon Lumb.

The game debuts on May 31 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X. The Champions Edition, priced $20 more than the Standard Edition, grants three days of early access starting May 28.

Lee noted that the community reacted positively to the F1 24 announcement, especially the updates in handling and physics, as well as the new Driver Career. Players who participated in the beta program have already provided feedback on stability, physics, handling, and AI, and adjustments have been made based on this.

The main AI changes involve improving performance with the new physics and car setup model. This will be evident in how the AI brakes and exits corners and in their confidence when racing wheel to wheel. The AI has also improved its management of the updated ERS system, impacting attacks and defenses.

Lee highlighted the new Driver Career as one of the best new features. It allows players to become a world champion or lead a team to the top of the constructors' championship. Significant improvements have been made in car handling and appearance, providing an immersive experience.

Simon reported that F1 24 uses a dynamic diffuse global illumination solution with ray tracing, enhancing lighting and shadows in various conditions, such as bright Monaco or rainy Las Vegas.

Regarding NVIDIA, the Shader Execution Reordering technology will not be available in F1 24 as it did not provide significant benefits in the previous version. Instead, F1 24 will support NVIDIA Frame Generation for performance improvements on 40-series GPUs.

Graphics updates in the VR version include new enhancements if the hardware is powerful enough. F1 24 will support NVIDIA's frame generation technique, but triple-screen support will be limited as in previous versions.

Support for the Turtle Beach Velocity One has been added, and changes in physics will allow players to better feel the car through feedback. Classic cars and tracks are not planned to return soon, as the team focuses on modern races.

Finally, Lee explained that the EGO Engine, on which the game is built, allows the team to make changes and add new technologies effectively, making it the best choice for F1.

Sony Aims to Strengthen the PlayStation Ecosystem and Increase Player Engagement

During a February meeting with investors, Sony Interactive Entertainment Chairman Hiroki Totoki announced that Sony would continue expanding its presence on PC while bolstering its library of first-party studio games. In 2024, the company will release the multiplayer shooter Concord for PlayStation 5 and PC from Firewalk Studios. Totoki noted that despite actively ramping up game production from PlayStation Studios in recent years, the company does not expect revenue growth from first-party studio games in the upcoming fiscal year. Significant revival is anticipated only in the 2025 and 2026 fiscal years.

PlayStation ecosystems

Sony is focusing on increasing player engagement within the PlayStation ecosystem rather than just simple sales of consoles and games. Totoki explained that during the PlayStation 3 era, sales were the primary success metric, but with the advent of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, the time users spend on platforms has become more critical. This approach allows PlayStation 4 users to transfer their games to PlayStation 5 without losing progress. Additionally, the company is expanding its activities to mobile platforms, which also contributes to revenue growth.

Sony employee Alana Pearce added that in today's world, gaming companies compete not only with other games but also with social networks and applications like TikTok. The main goal is to retain user attention and increase the time spent in their games and on platforms, helping to boost long-term revenue.

In conclusion, Totoki emphasized that Sony is preparing several projects from its internal studios for release in the coming years, including a potential new Astro Bot game.
