Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Studios is changing its release date to avoid competition with Starfield

Developers Larian Studios have decided to push back the release date of their highly anticipated RPG Baldur's Gate 3 to avoid competition from Bethesda Game Studios' Starfield.

The estimated release date for the PS5 game has now been set for September 6, 2023, a week after the original target date. However, for PC users, the game will be available even earlier - from August 3rd.

This decision seems to suit the authors, as Starfield, developed by Bethesda Game Studios, will be exclusive to Microsoft platforms and therefore not in direct competition for the PS5 release of Baldur's Gate 3.

It can be assumed that such a decision by Larian Studios is due to the desire to provide its product with the best start, minimizing competition in the market. This demonstrates the wisdom of developers in choosing a release strategy and taking into account existing market trends.

The interaction between game developers, as in any other industry, is important for balance and fair competition in the market. On the one hand, developers can avoid unproductive competition; on the other hand, they can ensure that players have enough time and resources to explore each of the new games. This interaction also helps ensure that every game gets the attention and appreciation it deserves from the player community.
