BioWare is shifting away from multiplayer projects and focusing on single-player RPGs set in the Mass Effect and Dragon Age universes

BioWare has announced plans to dedicate its full efforts to developing single-player RPGs in the Mass Effect and Dragon Age universes. The news of the shift to making big single player games was confirmed by BioWare General Manager Gary McKay.

"Our goal is to be the leader in developing immersive, emotionally charged single player games," McKay said. This announcement comes after several failed attempts by BioWare on multiplayer titles such as Anthem and Star Wars: The Old Republic.

From now on, the development and support of Star Wars: The Old Republic will be in the hands of the Broadsword team. McKay promised that the Broadsword team will continue to work on the implementation of everything promised to the fans and will bring "interesting innovations" to the game.

As for the next games in the Dragon Age and Mass Effect series, BioWare is already actively working on it. "We are confident that the new Dragon Age, which we are now continuing to improve, will appeal to fans. We look forward to showing it to you," McKay added. He also confirmed that a team of experienced writers is already preparing exciting new stories for the next Mass Effect game.

BioWare's move away from multiplayer projects in favor of single-player RPGs could mean a return to the studio's roots. This holds great promise for fans of classic RPGs who prefer to immerse themselves in the deep and emotional stories that have become BioWare's hallmark.
