Cities Skylines 2's Troubled Launch Sparks Player Backlash on Steam

Paradox Interactive's much-anticipated release of "Cities Skylines 2" on Steam didn't go as planned. While the company had already warned of performance issues, players were shocked by the game's performance.

Even owners of high-end PCs with GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards reported significant performance issues in "Cities Skylines 2." Dissatisfaction with the game's performance led to a surge of negative reviews on Steam.

Negative reviews caused the game's rating to plummet into the "Mostly Negative" category, but it has gradually risen to "Mixed" (with around 49% of 10,000+ reviews being negative). Even in positive reviews, criticism and jokes about the game's state are present.

The troubled launch of "Cities Skylines 2" swiftly landed it in Steam's top 100 worst-rated games, securing the 67th spot, nestled between "HomeWork Is Crazy" and "Wild Hearts."
