Half-Life 2 Makes a Comeback with RTX: Revamped Version of the Classic Game Announced

NVIDIA has excited fans of the classic game Half-Life 2 by unveiling an RTX version under the RTX Remix Project. This endeavor is in collaboration with Orbifold Studios, a team formed by modding enthusiasts from Half-Life 2.

The highlight of this revamped version is its enhanced textures and intricate detailing of objects. For instance, the protagonist's suit now boasts 20 times more geometric details and a realistic light reflection from sources.

Currently in the early stages of development, the project has caught eyes with its impressive graphics, utilizing NVIDIA's latest technologies such as full ray tracing, DLSS 3, Reflex, and RTX IO. In addition to Half-Life 2 RTX, the game Portal will also receive an update supporting NVIDIA DLSS 3.5.
