Leaked PC Screenshots of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Surface: Anticipated 2024 Release
Recently, work-in-progress screenshots of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PC were leaked following a ransomware attack on Insomniac Games by the hacker group Rhysida. The group, after gaining access to around 1.67 terabytes of company data, demanded a $2 million ransom in bitcoin, which led to the data leak, including information and screenshots of the upcoming game.
The leak also revealed Insomniac’s future plans, including a standalone Venom game slated for Fall 2025 and other Marvel universe projects. Notably, the leak did not include information about PC ports, which have become a crucial part of Sony’s strategy for first-party exclusives.
According to the leaked documents, the PC release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is expected by the end of the fiscal year 2024, meaning by the end of March 2024. The port’s estimated cost is $4.6 million, double that of the first installment. However, this does not imply that PC gamers will be able to play it as early as April 2024.
Sony has consistently maintained a minimum one-year gap between console and PC releases for its first-party titles. In practice, most games are released around the two-year mark post-console release. Therefore, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is more likely to make its PC appearance at some point in 2025.
Fans eagerly await the opportunity to review the leaked work-in-progress PC screenshots of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Although the screenshots indicate a lot of work still in progress, it is not surprising considering the ongoing development of the port.
