Prominent Publishers are Actively Ditching Denuvo DRM from Their Games

Warner Bros. Games recently made headlines by removing the Denuvo anti-piracy protection from their hit, Mortal Kombat 11. This trend seems to be gaining momentum as major publishers like Capcom and Square Enix have also excised this protection from their popular projects, including Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Octopath Traveler 2.

However, the major news of the day is that Bethesda Softworks and id Software have released an update for DOOM Eternal, eliminating the Denuvo DRM technology. Notably, despite this protection, the game was available on pirated platforms on its release day in March 2020. Now, over three years later, Bethesda decided to get rid of this contentious technology from the game.
