Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PC Receives Update Improving Ray Tracing and Texture Filtering

A new update for the PC version of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart from Insomniac Games and Nixxes was released today. This update (version 1.728.0.0) addresses several issues, including some visual bugs.

For instance, it resolved texture streaming problems that could result in low-resolution textures. Visual bugs with water reflections when setting any ambient occlusion value other than SSAO have also been fixed. In addition, an issue that caused the interaction button prompt to remain visible on the screen has been resolved.

The update also includes other bug fixes, stability improvements, and optimizations.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was launched on PC last week, two years after its PlayStation 5 debut. As usual, the port by Nixxes sports a host of cutting-edge features, such as support for all main upscalers (NVIDIA DLSS 2 & 3/DLAA, AMD FSR 2.1, and Intel XeSS) and even Temporal Injection from Insomniac Games.

However, there were some hiccups with the launch. Specifically, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart did not support ray tracing effects on AMD graphics cards at launch due to 'stability issues'. There's still no official word from Insomniac/Nixxes regarding the availability of ray tracing for AMD GPUs.
