Sony achieves success in PC gaming: significant revenue growth from game releases

Sony, traditionally limiting its flagship games to PlayStation consoles, has recently changed its approach by actively entering the PC gaming market. This strategic shift has already brought significant success to the company. At an investor briefing, Sony announced it expects to earn $450 million from PC games in the current fiscal year, ending March 31, 2024.

This is a significant increase from $250 million in the previous fiscal year, indicating a substantial growth in interest for Sony’s games on PC. Recent releases like Spider-Man Remastered and The Last of Us Part I have shown impressive sales and revenue results.

Unlike its competitor Microsoft, Sony does not release its new games simultaneously on PC and consoles, but plans to change this practice for future live-service titles. However, for other Sony games, fans are expected to wait at least a year for their PC release after the console debut.
