Square Enix Removes Denuvo DRM from Its Action RPG Forspoken

Square Enix continues its trend of removing Denuvo DRM technology from its games. Recently, the company did the same with titles like Star Ocean: The Divine Force and Triangle Strategy.

Forspoken, an action RPG from Square Enix that launched on PC and PlayStation 5 in January 2023, was one of those games that never got cracked, despite the use of Denuvo DRM technology for piracy protection.

Now, however, this technology has been removed from the PC version of the game. This is evidenced by changes in the executable file, although mention of Denuvo still remains on Forspoken's Steam store page. This provides an opportunity to verify whether the controversial DRM had an impact on the game's performance.
