Support for Battlefield 1, Battlefield 5, and Star Wars: Battlefront II on outdated Windows versions ends November 30

Electronic Arts (EA) has officially announced the termination of support for popular games Battlefield 1, Battlefield 5, and Star Wars: Battlefront II on computers running Windows 7, 8, and 8.1, effective from November 30th this year. The developers emphasized that beyond the mentioned date, the smooth operation of these games on outdated OS versions can no longer be guaranteed.

This decision comes in alignment with security measures for gamers, as Microsoft has already ceased support for these versions of its operating system, leaving users without security updates and technical support. Specifically, support for Windows 7 ended in January 2020, while support for Windows 8.1 concluded in January 2023.

However, all three games will continue to operate on the newer versions of Windows - 10 and 11, ensuring players can continue to enjoy their favorite games without any hassles. There is no talk of server shutdowns yet, affirming EA's commitment to supporting its products on modern platforms and ensuring a high-quality gaming experience for its community.

Electronic Arts continues to keep its products relevant by adapting them to the latest technological requirements and security standards, underlining its commitment to the gaming community in providing a quality and safe gaming experience.
