Support for Far Cry 6 Ends: Ubisoft Shifts Focus Towards Upcoming Ventures

Ubisoft has announced the conclusion of content support for the shooter game Far Cry 6, launched in 2021. The game will no longer receive updates and patches, although the online functionality will remain intact, allowing players to continue enjoying the storyline campaign.

In an official statement, Ubisoft thanked the millions of players who joined the virtual fight, stating, "Your adventures in Yara can continue, but the development team will now shift its focus to new projects."

Rumors suggest that Ubisoft is already actively engaged in the development of the next installment in the series - Far Cry 7, along with a multiplayer spin-off set in Alaska. Both projects are expected to be unveiled to the public in the fall of 2025. It’s worth noting that the Far Cry franchise is one of Ubisoft's key series alongside Assassin's Creed.
